Kyiv, Ukraine At the General Representation of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria in Kyiv, a meeting was held between the Prime Minister of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, Mr.Akhmed Zakayev, and representatives of Georgia Mr. Lado Gamsakhurdia, de jure Minister of Defense of the lawful government of President Zviad Gamsakhurdia, and Mr. Mikhail Baturin, Secretary of the National Security Council.
During the official meeting, the parties discussed issues related to strengthening political partnership and exploring prospects for cooperation in the field of security. Particular emphasis was placed on the need to develop common approaches aimed at ensuring stability and peace in the Caucasus region.
The participants highlighted the historical and exceptional significance of the contributions of the first President of the independent Republic of Georgia, Zviad Gamsakhurdia, and the first President of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, Dzhokhar Dudayev. Both leaders were among the first to recognize the necessity of establishing a Caucasian alliance and fostering cooperation among the free peoples of the region to ensure collective security and independence from external influence.
The ideas of friendship and unity advocated by these visionary presidents emphasizing Caucasian solidarity and mutual support among nations remain relevant and inspiring today.
