The Supreme Council of the Republic of Georgia has called parliamentary elections!

Resolution of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Georgia of November 15, 2025

On the Appointment of Parliamentary Elections by the Supreme Council of the Republic of Georgia:

In order to overcome the severe political crisis caused by the non-recognition by the countries of the international community of the rigged parliamentary and local self-government elections held by the de facto authorities of Georgia in 2024-2025 and the governmental vacuum existing in the country, taking into account the interests of the country's population, the principles recognized by the Transitional Constitution of the Republic of Georgia, and the authority established by Article 86 and Article 104, Paragraph 27 of the Transitional Constitution of the Republic of Georgia, the Supreme Council of the Republic of Georgia decrees:

1. The Parliamentary Elections of the Republic of Georgia shall be held on April 9, 2026.

2. In order to ensure that parliamentary elections are held fairly and in accordance with international standards, consultations should be initiated with the country's political spectrum to improve electoral legislation and staff the Central Election Commission on a parity basis.

3. We call on the democratic countries of the international community to assist the legitimate authorities of the Republic of Georgia in holding universal democratic, equal and legitimate parliamentary elections in accordance with internationally recognized standards.
